Who let the dogs out??? Week 4 and we are here!

Someone let the little potato puppies become dogs! Barking, eating, pooping......just like little dogs! Let the real fun begin now.
We enlarged the little baby whelping pen a little bit to accommodate the bigger potty tray. This one has much higher step up so they needed to be a little bigger for it to work but they got it!! I have learned (yes, sometimes the hard way) that keeping the space still small until they 100% get the potty tray is critical to success. Right now there is really barely enough room for Mom to come in and nurse, play and potty. It's working like a charm!
Puppies are doing great, getting new noise exposure, smells, being handled, baths and nail trims. They are playing more, moving around nice and solid.....no more drunken sailors. They move with a purpose.
Our most exciting news is that Cypress has started her heat cycle so we will have a breeding this weekend ish.....I hope! Tonka is coming to visit us since we can't leave the puppies to go see him in Washington. So excited to have Poppa come for a visit! We will be checking progesterone but my best guess is we will have a breeding this weekend which means puppies will come 1st week of November to go home 1st of January.
