It's a RACE!

Classic Cars are in a race to be the biggest, healthiest and fastest growers! Every day they switch positions, someone new takes the lead! Today Cuda pulled ahead of the pack with the largest overnight gain. In ONE week, they have all doubled their birth weights. I could not be happier with their growth, development and Momma's recovery. Everyday I weigh them in the morning at approximately the same time and chart their weight gain with the use of this program from Breedera.
We started Early Neuorological Stimulation and smell exposure on day 3. We now have 4 days under our belts from the first day when we made this video. All are now MUCH more relaxed with being handled. Personally, I feel like this process not only does all the things the studies say but makes the pups so comfortable with being handled in general. Better huggers? Maybe.......
Smells have consisted of Lavender, pumpkin, banana, apple and cinnamon. So far, Cinnamon is the fave......why wouldn't it be?
First car ride is always an adventure, all snuggled into the cutest little basket with Mom right beside them watching ever so diligently! A little squirming and whining to be expected but they were all champs! The basket belonged to my Mom so it was a good Mother's Day rememberance.
We all have experienced nail trims, twice now actually! Their nails have very sharp little pointy ends that can easily scratch Mom while nursing so I take a human nail clipper and snip the ends. We will do this on a regular basis the entire time the pups are here with us so they are trimmed and hopefully they are used to be being "Paw" handled! It is something they will need to have done their entire lives and most do not much care for the process. I try to make sure each one gets a special Mom snuggle afterwards to reassure them all is well.

On another note, Congratulations to our 6 month old Thanksgiving puppies and 10 month old Forest Puppies for Passing their S.T.A.R. puppy class!!! We neglected to get photos of everyone unfortunately!
