Successful Breeding for Magnolia and Tonka!!

It seemed a long wait for Magnolia to be in the right spot of her heat cycle to go visit Tonka but our patience paid off!!! We had a perfectly timed breeding on March 2nd and 3rd! It's a repeat performance for these two and since we diligently progesterone tested Magnolia, we knew exactly when she was ready. It was like a well choreographed dance! Monday am her number was 7.8 so the two of us jumped in the car, drove 6 hours to Tonka and Boom! Then again the next morning (just to make sure), they connected again within 15 minutes and we were on our way back to Idaho.

If the timing is not perfect, they will not connect so we know we were spot on. We will do an ultrasound on March 31 to confirm pregnancy and give us a rough idea how many puppies we have coming. It's crazy to me that we can't do a blood test or something to confirm she is pregnant before 28 days but there is not! So, now we wait......AGAIN!

The entire pregnancy is 63 days from conception so if all goes according to Hoyle, puppies will be born the first week in May.

We are still taking reservations for this litter anticipating a full size group of 8 pups, we can't 100% know what we have in regards to quantity or gender until they are here. If you are interested, apply now!!! Typically, our litters are fully reserved well before birth.

Since this is a repeat pairing, we do have photos of the last litter (Forest Babes) who are now over 6 months old. Here are some photo's of the almost grown pups! Many are weighing in the 40-50 lb range with more growth to come, some have passed their S.T.A.R. Puppy classes, all are well loved and busy enhancing the lives of their people! Busy is probably the operative word here!
