They are already soooo fat and happy!!!! Just one week and the puppies have nearly all doubled their birthweight. It's an amazing process to witness!

We started Early Neurological Stimulation at day 3. This gentle handling acts as a small stressor for the puppies. Very slow and gentle at this stage but we will it continue everyday. As we go along the handling becomes a little more intense. The point of this is to to not only stimulate the pups heart and blood flow but make their little brains accepting of human handling. We want them to learn people are good, safe and it's all ok for them to be handled in a gentle and respectful manner.
Cypress took a few days to get her stomach all settled after the birth process. I had to work at finding things for her to eat so she was a little spoiled (as she should be)! Scrambled eggs, boiled chicken, rice......moved on to chicken hearts, bacon and sardines. FINALLY, she is back to normal and eating her kibble (still with added goodness but more the normal meat balls, green beans, and supplements that we feed all the time).
Because she is having to do all the stimulation for the puppies to eliminate her poo is a little yucky (that's a technical term). Dehydrated carrots and canned pumpkin help this tremendously! I am a huge fan of NuVet Plus for added goodness to the diet of the moms as well as the puppies. AND I am in love with this new Yeti food bowl. Perfect size, shape, doesn't slip around, and stainless interior is super easy to clean. Of course, I have two and the other thing about them that I love is they stack for easy storing and sanitary storage between meals.

Puppies new snuggle puppies arrived! Everyone gets one in their go home packets. These little guys are sent from God for new puppies. Both my girls had one when they came home and it's still their favorite stuffy! Fortunately the company has offered a "breeder" package so it's affordable for us to include with the puppy.....before that I highly recommended new owners buy one!

We did our first nail trim, trying to keep them from scratching Mom! Also will help desensitize the whole nail trim process for the rest of their lives! Groomers will thank us! First time was little squirrely but it will get better.
We have offered a new "scent" every day. They all react differently and some they like better than others! We have done lemons, lavender, sardines. orange, and today was peppermint!
I love this graph program from Fidopoli for keeping track of the puppies daily weight and growth! So easy for me to chart, not always easy to get the little wiggle worms to hold still while I register their weight but I LOVE this program for tracking.

Just had to add this picture of the puppies in a basket because it was so darn cute! We went for a short car ride, with Mom, which we will also continue to do throughout their time with us here at Royal Goldens. Lot's of exposure to events, noises, smells and before we know it, we will be able to have visitors and meet KIDS!!!!
