WOW!!! What a litter this is! Magnolia was so big we were afraid (and hoping at the same time) she was having a litter of 10 or 12 pups. Turns out there were 8 chunky monkeys!! The smallest one weighed in at 15.3 oz and the biggest was 19.8. In the previous Forest litter from Magnolia and Tonka, she had 7 and the largest was Fir at 14.8.....just for perspective! She did amazing, all delivered naturally starting at 5:00am and we were finished at 10:30! This am everyone had gained at least 1 oz, some 2+. Magnolia won't leave them for long but she was game for a couple ball throws when out on her potty break. That tells me she feels great! She is eating so well, we LOVE the Purina Pro Plan Salmon and Rice food......why? You guessed it, poop results are soooo good! Even after birthing when diarrhea is super common it's not bad! Feeding her Olewo dehydrated carrots with her food to help combat the post birth softness. We could not be happier with her recovery, the size and health of the puppies and their progress already in just 24 hours.

So proud of my girl, she did it all so perfectly. Funny thing was the first litter she had she didn't want to break the sacks and lick them at first. I thought it was "first time" Mom stuff but she pretty much did it again! I think she just doesn't like the muck, after I clean them up, she is much happier and does her job beautifully.

Boy pups are Edsel, Bronco, Bentley, Scamp, Beemer and Cuda. Girls are Porsche and Mercedes.

We always employ the snuggle puppies to help with babies from day 1 and every puppy takes one home with them at the end with a heart beat and heat pack to make it feel like their siblings. That nasty looking white one (yes, it's freshly washed!) is Magnolia's original, now nearly 5 years old and very well loved. I tried to take it away from her and replace with that nice new one but she keeps finding it and dragging it back to the pen. She has had that lamby since she was a baby too. Lamby has a few scars but the snuggle puppy is just overly loved. Testament to what good care she gives all her babies. And they were necessary companions when labor started!

Stay tuned for our adventures over the next 2 months here at Royal Goldens. Everyday will be something new as we grow and learn and to be the best Golden Retriever companions for our lucky families!!!!
