Growing like WEEDS!

So Crazy how fast these little ones can grow! Everyone has doubled their birth weight in the first week. So much cuteness and some very excited families waiting and watching the process!

Everyone has had their first nail trim with mild reactions. We Log their responses to many low stress activities as part of the evaluation we will ultimately do in order to place the right pup with the right family. We can track of everything for the entire 8 weeks but don't make final decisions until after 7.5 weeks. It is a process that requires much patience from us and the prospective families! All week I have handled them with mild stressors.....holding on their back, touching paws, touching ears, stroking their backs and tails, holding upright and upside down. All for just a couple seconds, then a big hug next to my heart! As you can imagine, this is very tough duty!

I use this cute little basket that belonged to my Mother as a "holding"pen for the pups while I clean their whelping box. Photo on the right is from today, going need a bigger box!

Magnolia experienced some diarrhea earlier in the week and it was a challenge getting her to eat! Some creative meals (baby food of all things) and some meds from the vet have improved her appetite tremendously! We are being extremely diligent with cleanup/sanitation of EVERYTHING as she improves daily. I have an amazing community of breeders, vet and other support to make sure we are doing everything possible. Today she was out playing ball while the babies are napping.

All this "dreaming" while they are sleeping is actually them growing!
