Exciting news this week!! Cypress is home again after spending the week with Tonka. They did their magic in perfect sync....timing is everything in the breeding world and when it's right, you get the magic! Special thank you to Cinnamon at Hoekema Homestead Goldens for keeping Cypress during the week and orchestrating their breeding. Since we have puppies on the ground, we can't leave them to go 6 hrs away for breeding!
Pregnancy to be confirmed in 28 days......insane to me that we have to wait so long but as they say "Patience is a virtue".

If all goes according to Hoyle, this litter will be born Nov. 8th ish and go home Jan. 9th, 2026. We are accepting applications so get on the list early.
Our last 2 littters have been full before they were born.
This week was fantastic for puppies development. 6 weeks is a big milestone for the little rascals and their mental capabilities. Even though they have been eating softened kibble from a bowl for a bit now, they didn't have the coordination to take a piece of kibble from my hand as a treat until now. That ability opens the door to way more effective training! I do have to be careful not to overfeed them as they are little liars, and always tell me they are starving!!! The trick is to measure out the daily kibble amount into a cup, treat them from that cup for training and what is left over at dinner time is what they get! Since we are now feeding them individually in crates, it works pretty well to keep their weight gain under control. We weighed everyone, and received another round of dewormer. Next week I need a bigger bucket!

The training to sit and wait at the fence for a treat, pet and to be picked up is a foundation for calm behavior. They are soaking it up like sponges! Most have grasped it in the group environment but we have had to employ a couple one on one sessions......it's so rewarding to watch the light bulb go on when they get it!!
We had baths in the big kid tub! No more baby sink baths for us now! This is also life skill handling as they will need baths, nail trims and ear cleaning for the rest of their lives and we always want their experience to be calm and accepting.

Visitors are always such a pleasure, especially a kid who can use the 'puppy, puppy, puppy" command and they follow her anywhere!!!! This recall command stays with them forever, even after they learn their name and come. Puppy, puppy gets their attention every time!
I will leave you with toe beans......and cute calm faces for this week! See you all next week with even bigger and cuter puppies, if that is even possible!!!
